DİSK Protest

Employees of various Izmir Metropolitan Municipality subsidiaries organised a protest, including a torchlight march, to express their dissatisfaction with the late payment of their November salaries and the failure to pay additional social benefits for four months. The workers gathered in front of Lozan Square in Izmir and began their march. 9 December 2025, Izmir, Turkey. The municipality is governed by the main opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP), and is the third largest city in Turkey.
