Kadifekale Urban Transformation

Nearly two thousand houses were demolished and thousands of people were displaced due to urban transformation in the Kadifekale district of IzmirMost people complained that their homes were expropriated at prices below their value and they could not adapt to the new housing estates they were placed in.This photo-interview work was done collectively with photographer Sinan Kılıç between 2010 and 2011.
