Far Away From Homeland

Türkiye was the first stop for millions of people fleeing the civil war in Syria.Syrian children in these photos pose in front of a freshly painted school wall.In this school, a retired volunteer teacher was trying to teach Turkish to approximately 80 refugee children who had no official registration.And they were looking at the camera, far away from their homeland, in front of landscape paintings behind them.This typological work was made in 2015 and was exhibited at the Bursa Photo Festival with the exhibition 'War and Migration in the Mediterranean' in Izmir.
